Church Staff

David Case is our preaching minister. He started his ministry here at Newberg Christian Church in 1982 as the youth minister. His passion is to see all people come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. He enjoys spending time with his family, and playing golf and softball, and he's happy when the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys win. David and his wife Julie have three pretty much grown children, Bethany, Jamie and Brett.






Jason Dick is our Family Minister.  A 4th generation Oregonian, he grew up in Portland, where he played baseball and soccer and wrestled.  He comes to us after serving at a large Portland area church.  Jason enjoys old war movies especially if they star John Wayne.  Jason and his wife Chris are the proud parents of four, ages 15 on down.









Debbie Groat is our Volunteers & Women's Minister, as well as Administrative Assitant to David and Kelley.  She and her husband Mike met as students at Puget Sound Christian College and are raising three sons.  She has been on staff since 1996.  If she had any spare time she would more than likely spend it finding more things to do. 







 

Andy Heisler is our Discipleship and Care Minister. He and his wife Jennifer have four daughters and a son, and they love being a part of NCC.  He’s passionate about teaching God’s Word and encouraging leaders.  If he had any free time, you might find him rafting, woodturning, or cheering for the 49ers.









Kelley Reid is our Worship and Executive Minister. He and his wife Kimi are both graduates of San Jose Christian College / William Jessup University.








 

Lee Shafer came to us in 1988 as our senior minister. We've kept him pretty busy in his first "retirement" as minister to our seniors. He's retired once again, but continues to serve the congregation as Pastor Emeritus. Lee has a heart of missions, and serves on the board of directors of Korean Christian Gospel Mission. He and his wife Jaunita enjoy travelling and working in the yard. They have 4 grown children and 9 grandchildren.







Chris Taibbi is our Youth Minister. He grew up in Hillsboro, and graduated high school in '01 before traveling to Joplin, MO to attend Ozark Christian College.  Chris loves sharing God’s Word, and how He works in our life. Chris also enjoys playing most sports, especially golf, softball (he’s now officially old), and basketball, and he might be slightly obsessed with the Colorado Rockies and Portland Trailblazers.  He is not the juggler guy.

 

John Turner was our youth minister for nearly 10 years and has transitioned into being responsible for media and technology thingies, which means he's responsible for any glitches or mispelings on this site. He enjoys snow skiing, helping out with the youth and is a hopeless LA Dodger fan. John and his wife Shirley have two grown daughters, and two granddaughters.

Since we removed the address links from our website, the amount of SPAM cluttering our inboxes has dropped dramatically.  We feel that it is not being a good steward of our time to have to sort through all the offers of products we don't need to get to legitimate correspondence. 

We realize the inconvenience this causes, but the amount and type of SPAM we were getting really was getting quite ridiculous.
